About the claim
Our clients were a company who acquired two industrial units in Rotherham and then built an extension in one and incurred cost on internal alterations on the other.
Their accountant had made a claim for them on this expenditure and were able to identify £351,000 of allowances.
After our own review of the same expenditure, we were able to find an additional £313,000 that the accountant could not identify.
Our approach
After the initial enquiry, we reviewed the documents and fixed asset registers that had been submitted to us by the accountants.
We were convinced that additional allowances would be available to the client. We engaged with the client and arranged a survey of the property.
We were able to find a significant uplift of allowances mainly due to the number of items that were not shown on invoices that an accountant would be able to claim.
Example of fixtures that were claimed:
- Door Latch/Lock and Lever Handles
- Roller Shutter Doors
- Signage
- Vinyl Flooring
Key fact
There is no harm in consulting with capital allowance consultants like ourselves, even when you or your accountant has previously made a claim on a property.
We offer no obligation reviews to see if there is scope to increase any claim.
